How to get home folder, trash icons on desktop in Ubuntu

Here's a quick "how to" for getting a users home folder, trash, etc. icons on the desktop in Ubuntu.

1. Alt-F2 from desktop.

2. Type gconf-editor. Select run.

3. Navigate to apps>nautilus>desktop.

4. Select the icons that you would like to be visible on the desktop.

5. Close out and you should be good to go.

My desktop is completely bare, except for a terminal icon, which I don't know how it got there. I don't like to clutter up the desktop, but there a few which are necessary.
