Rooting - Trouble 4

I am working on rooting trouble #4 with not much luck.
It get all the way to init, and then go to the prompt, it just mounts /. I have looked at grub and inittab I cann't not fine anything in those two files. In fact in this problen
it never does get to inittab. Can anyone give me some direction?
